Product Details
The Desert Rose (Adenium obesum) is a captivating succulent shrub that brings exotic, sculptural beauty to any space. Native to the arid regions of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, this plant features a thick, swollen trunk (called a caudex) that stores water, glossy dark green leaves, and stunning trumpet-shaped flowers in vibrant shades of pink, red, white, coral, or even multi-colored hybrids. Often grown as a striking container specimen or bonsai-style plant, its rose-like blooms and unique bottle-shaped form make it a standout favorite for patios, indoors, or xeriscape gardens.

Plant lovers are drawn to the Desert Rose for its dramatic, low-effort elegance — it delivers long-lasting, showy blooms (often twice a year in warm conditions) with minimal care once established. The eye-catching caudex gives it a natural bonsai or artistic look, it thrives in hot, dry climates, is highly drought-tolerant, resists many pests, and adds a touch of tropical sophistication indoors or out. Its resilience and bold beauty make it rewarding for beginners and collectors alike.

Caring Tips for Desert Rose
Sunlight: Full sun is essential - provide at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily for the best flowering. Indoors, place near a bright south- or west-facing window.
Watering: Water thoroughly but infrequently; let the soil dry out completely (top 2 inches or more) between watering to avoid root rot. Reduce watering significantly in winter during dormancy.
Soil: Use a well-draining cactus/succulent mix or amend potting soil with sand, perlite, or pumice for excellent drainage.
Fertilizer: Feed every 4–6 weeks during the spring and summer growing season with a balanced or low-nitrogen fertilizer (half-strength) to promote blooms. Skip fertilizing in winter.
Pruning: Prune in late winter or early spring to shape the plant, encourage bushiness, or maintain bonsai style. Wear gloves - the sap is toxic and can irritate skin.
Temperature: Loves heat (ideal above 15°C).
Note: All parts of the Desert Rose are toxic if ingested - keep away from pets and children.
Elevate your collection with a Desert Rose for effortless, eye-catching charm that blooms with personality!
